AYURVEDA… In our life we go through three stages… KAPHA – PITTA – VATA.

Self Care and body care is a constant mantra in my blogs.

Although I am not a teacher of Ayurveda, I am a reader, follower and I love to share information. In my third stage of life, I am truly finding out that what I experienced in my other stages is interpretated and processed differently in my third stage. I look at my relationships with more openness, I want to spend time eating and sitting with people to communicate about what we did during the day. During the day whether I am walking in the Village or in my neighborhood I look around me and take in the view rather than focusing on the destination. I look at the night sky and see endless possibilities. Maybe this is all fantasy, but how many times do we say practice self care?

Not necessarily does self care mean to use a product, it can be a feeling or an action. Dinacharya, or a daily ritual for your body, soul or mind, builds a solid foundation for good health and increased longevity.

Abhyanga or self massage is a pillar of Ayurvedic medicine.

Self massage is grounding and can connect you to the earth and world you are in. Self massage can increase circulation, eliminates toxins, stimulate joint lubricants and can help you get a better night sleep. 5 minutes a day can change your outlook or be calming at the end of the day.

Using an oil during self massage is encouraged rather than a lotion. We know that oil moisturizes and hydrates the skin more than lotion. Oils are lipophilic and are attracted to fats, which is easier to pass thru our skins fat layers. Creams and lotions may contain oils but only a small percentage, not enough to penetrate the skin as a pure oil. Our Golden Oil is a jojoba-based body oil with essential oils for calming.

With care,

Lori
